Validating the Protection Provided

With the launch of the improved 3M™ EARFit™ Validation System with its innovative F-mire technology (field microphone in real ear) in just 8 seconds 3M can now help customers with determining their employees Personal Attenuation Rating (PAR) and hopefully in turn train them in fitting their hearing protection to improve their protection levels achieved.

This system provides a ‘Real Fit in Real Time’ result as well as documenting the data for future reference enabling users to keep ongoing historical data files.

The system can be used with a number of 3M hearing protectors and it also offers the following key features

Dual Element Microphone which measures the sound both inside and outside of the ear
Advanced Algorithm which utilises transfer function measurement approach to acquire reliable data
Proprietary application software which provides enhanced metrics for guidance in the application of the measured insertion loss values.
