The 3M™ Hookit™ Film Disc 360L features an aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing for effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats and polyurethane solid surface substrates. The sturdy film backing gives the durability needed for a high-production environment, and its excellent resistance to edge tearing provides longer life over discs with standard A-weight paper backings.

Featuring a durable film backing with excellent resistance to edge tearing, 3M™ Hookit™ Film Disc 360L provides a longer life than discs with a standard A-weight paper backing. Our 360L discs contain an aluminium oxide abrasive grain for effective fine sanding on plastics, gel coats and polyurethane solid surface substrates. 360L discs are available in a range of grades, making them useful for many applications, including fine sanding and finishing. The film backing gives you a close-tolerance, consistent finish – good for spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects and sanding automotive primer. To reduce loading, these discs are designed with an open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. Aluminium oxide abrasive grain, featured on the film backing, has a fast cut rate coupled with a long life. This tough, durable mineral self fractures to expose fresh cutting edges – whereas traditional abrasives dull more quickly. It is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials in both wood and metal work, including ferrous alloys. We offer a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt or flying debris. Hookit™ discs are often used in applications where 3M™ Stikit™ discs may be too aggressive, as they leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit™ sanding discs firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily and can be re-used for the extent of the abrasive life.

Suggested applications
  • For sanding and finishing on composites, gel coats, fiberglass, and other solid surface materials
  • Use for spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects and sanding automotive primer
