3M™ Pressure Sensitive Acrylic Foam Tape 5845 is a 1.14 mm (0.045 in) thick, Grey, double-coated acrylic foam tape designed for the attachment of automotive exterior trim parts such as body side mouldings.

3M AFT 5845 is a medium-density foam tape providing a balance of conformability and strength. The acrylic foam core has unique viscoelastic properties that allow it to elongate and relax when put under a load, thereby minimizing stress on the adhesive bond line. 3M AFT 5845 has AR-7 adhesive on both sides of the product for a high level of adhesion to both the automotive paint and exterior trim part. The level of adhesion that AR-7 adhesive delivers to some trim components may eliminate the need for adhesion promoter. Since product performance will depend on actual conditions within a specific application, it is essential that the user evaluate the 3M product to determine whether it is fit for a particular material purpose and suitable for the users method of application.
