Scotch-Brite™ Light Grinding and Blending Disc uses a ceramic abrasive grain blend to achieve a high cut-rate for optimal weld grinding and blending in mild-steel applications. In these instances, Light Grinding and Blending discs are designed to effectively blend and refine a grade 36 scratch or finer.

For a higher cut rate and durability compared to aluminium oxide abrasives, use Scotch-Brite™ Light Grinding and Blending Disc. Our discs use a ceramic abrasive grain for optimal moderate stock removal, finishing and weld grinding and blending – effectively blending and refining a grade 36 scratch, or finer. They can also be used to prepare surfaces for painting, without adding a final dual-action sanding step – before applying a paint of a minimum 3 mil thickness. 3M ceramic aluminium oxide abrasive is engineered using one of our own processes. The mineral fractures frequently to reveal fresh points that are consistently sharp. Ceramic aluminium oxide abrasive surpasses aluminium oxide abrasives in both cut-rate and durability, effectively handling intense heat and stress applications. Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface conditioning products comprising of abrasives combined with non-woven fibre, to create an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open web material runs cool and is load resistant, limiting clogging of the fibres to keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance. We offer a complete range of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris.
