As a scientist, Nicky Bradley likes hard evidence and loves working for a company that is transparent with customers.
Nicky is an Application Engineering team leader for 3M’s Aerospace and Commercial Transportation Division and her group works closely with customers to help solve their technical challenges.
She says: “At 3M, we are always transparent and would declare an ingredient contained in a product in a small quantity, even if we are not legally obliged to. This means that customers can have complete confidence in the suitability of our solutions.
“This trust is so important and knowing that we are always completely honest in our dealings means that I am never put in an awkward position when I represent 3M.”
Nicky says that acting with integrity is embedded within the very fabric of 3M and that she is proud to work for a company that has been recognised externally as one of the most ethical in the world by Ethisphere.
She adds: “3M has a long history of doing business in the right way. Our Pollution Prevention Pays (3P) Programme began in 1975 with the goal of eliminating or reducing sources of pollution in 3M products and processes and continues to this day.
Nicky joined 3M’s corporate analytical laboratory in 2003, a year after graduating with a masters in chemistry.
She says: “3M has given me lots of opportunities and I love the fact that people are valued for their skills and not just their qualifications. All technical employees are also given 15 per cent of their time to spend working on their own projects, making it the perfect environment for creativity to thrive.
“I am a trained navigator for our Customer Innovation Centre in Bracknell and enjoy introducing customers to the wider 3M and talking not only about our 46 technology platforms, but also the ethos and traditions of the company.”
3M has been named as one of the world’s most ethical companies by Ethisphere for the third consecutive year. 3M joins just 131 industry giants, including Tata Steel, Ford Motor Company, Dell and Kellogg Company, to feature in the 2016 World’s Most Ethical Company list.
Ethisphere is a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical practice in business and recognises companies that align principle with action, work tirelessly to make trust part of their corporate DNA and shape future industry standards.
