3M showcases latest vehicle customisation products at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016

Bracknell, UK, 22 June 2016 – 3M, the science-based technology company, has expanded its presence at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the largest event of its kind, taking place 23-26 June 2016, showcasing its latest products and technologies for the motoring community. Visitors to the stand will have the chance to see a British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) car up close, meet special guests/drivers and view live demos of car wrapping, polishing and car care using the latest products, on vehicles including a Lamborghini.

The 3M stand located at 3, 4, 5 and 6, will feature some amazing cars that have been wrapped using vinyl film from 3M, including a BTCC car and its driver Kelvin Fletcher, will also feature on the stand this year. Kelvin will also be available for meet and greets with attendees.

A professional team of fully-trained and approved 3M Authorised Vehicle Wrappers (AVW) will be providing continuous live wrapping demonstrations on cars including a Lamborghini Huracán and more. By using a range of different colour change and printable films from 3M, each wrap will provide an insight into the ease with which a car can be personalised.

The company will be showcasing its range of car wrapping products including the recently announced 3M Wrap Film Series 1380, providing vehicle wrappers with outstanding conformability and enabling application into deeply recessed areas without requiring cutting or inlays. Increased opacity to improve the colour brilliance and prevent the substrate colour from showing through, and a durable transparent top coat gives added protection and resistance against the weather and scratches whilst enhancing the overall appearance. Other films on show include Controltac Graphic Film IJ180, Envision Print Wrap Film IJ480 and the Wrap Film Series 1080, all from 3M.

Making its debut appearance at Goodwood is the new Cubitron II Products Range of abrasive technology from 3M. Live demonstrations will show how the precision-shaped ceramic abrasive grains act like a cutting tool, continually self-sharpening to allow abrasive belts, sheets, sanding discs and bonded abrasive wheels to run cooler and keep on working. The latest addition to the 3M Premium Abrasives Range will be launched at Goodwood - the Hookit Blue Multihole Discs. Using engineered ceramic grain for a faster cut and longer life, the discs feature innovative spiral multihole technology for superior dust extraction when used with the range of universal back-up pads from 3M.

Other demonstrations include the Perfect-It III Colour-Coded Compounding Range from 3M, designed to enable virtually all paint defect rectification to be carried out with ease and confidence. The 3M Paint Defect Removal Hand System will also be available, allowing the removal of dirt nibs and other paint defects whilst minimising the repair area size, saving time and money.

The Meguiar's Brand brings its renowned products and proud history to Goodwood, showing its top-of-the-line products for everyone dedicated to maintaining a brilliant finish on their vehicles. Meguiar's Products include waxes, polishes, cleaners, conditioners and protectants for the automotive and marine markets, and will be running three-for-two offers on all products (excluding machine polishers) throughout the weekend.

Competitions on the stand during the event include the chance to win a Car Wrapping Kit from 3M, containing all the necessary tools for anyone to customise their own vehicle, achieving a top quality result. Those who entered into the 3M Wraps UK competition by sending a selfie of themselves and their vehicle can see if they can find their picture. A number of the images entered have been printed as a collage and wrapped onto one of the vehicles.

A 3M shop will also feature on the stand, offering products to purchase including ear defenders, protection and repair products.
